It was close to after midnight and the moon was full, Miller was excepted into Foresta Academy. The moon was gleaming a bit of light into the windows in the hall, Miller tried to avoid looking at the moon. After a long two days of rowing he just wants to get some sleep. He tiredly walks himself over to the entrance of the Emerald dormitory, he throws his hand at the door handle and pulls it open.
The door made a loud creaking noise as Miller opens it wider, then closes it behind him. The door made a loud slamming noise that could have possibly woke someone up. It was dark, all the lights were off, but that's not an issue for him. He wanders around the empty room looking at all the doors trying to figure out which one contains his room.
"Maybe we should have ask for a room number?' he asked himself in confusion "I have an idea though" Miller walks to the nearest door to him and puts his ear against it to try to hear if anyone is in it. Then he taps the tip of his arm blade on the wooden door, which made a fairly quiet tink noise.

Aluna had been sitting by the window, looking up at the full moon. Dressed in a simple tank top and soft cotton shorts, she lounged comfortably across the window seat. Sure, she should have been sleeping, but she was a wolf and also nocturnal by habit. The moon, her namesake, had always been a thing of mystery and beauty to her, even as a small child. In the pale light streaming through the window, her skin looked abnormally pale, and her silver hair shimmered.
She flinched, startled by the tapping on her door. Her amber eyes narrowed in confusion. Who could be at her door this late at night? With a sigh, she stood, reaching in the air and leaning back in a quick stretch before she padded silently to the door. She placed a hand on the doorknob and flicked her wrist to the side.
She opened the door a crack, looking out to see a half-man, half-machine mutant. Her eyes widened only slightly, curious as to what exactly he was. She opened the door only about a foot, casting a bar of moonlight into the hall, the Emerald dorm student lounge. She leaned against the doorjamb, her long hair flowing smoothly down her back. She eyed him warily, the wolf in her sizing him up, seeking out dangers and flaws. It was profiling, and her wolf half was almost paranoid.
A delicate eyebrow raised curiously. "Lost?" Her voice was calm and smooth, kind and curious.

Miller sees the door crack open and jumps back a bit. He goes bug eyed while his dark eyes gleamed in the moonlight, he wasn't expecting someone to answer the door. His body was jittering while he was rubbing the back of his neck, he had to say something, but it was hard for him to get it out since he's never spoken to someone in this way.
"um, ... we were lost, we were trying to find our room" he says very slowly and then says this very fast "we're new here".
Then his hand quickly moves from the back of his neck to out in front of him in a gesture to shake her hand. He also has a big grin on his face, but each ends of his lips are twitching.

We? Aluna's head tilted to the side curiously. She took his hand, shaking it once, her amber eyes darting about the darkened corridor. She had an idea that might help her find the boy's room, but she wasn't certain it would work.
"I have an idea. Don't panic." She stepped out into the hall, leaving her room door open. She took a deep breath and bowed her head to begin the process. Her bones snapped and popped as they rearranged themselves. Before long, the massive silver wolf had replaced the girl.
The wolf silently padded around, tasting the air. Before every new student arrived, the room they were to have had to be cleaned and given fresh bedding. With her wolf's nose, she could smell the faintest traces of a lingering scent. Through process of elimination, she stopped at one door not far from her own. The scent of human was fresh, but not strong enough to indicate a permanent residence. The scent was also fairly recognizable, one of the maids who regularly passed through these dorms.
With the same popping noises, she Shifted back into her human form, wearing the same shirt and shorts she had been wearing before. "According to scent traces here, this," she said, pointing at the door, "was the last room cleaned by the maid. History states that before every new student arrives, their room is cleaned and inspected for damage. So, adding everything together, this should be your room."
She stepped forward and swung open the door, revealing a freshly-made bed in the center of a clean room. After a quick look around, Aluna smiled. "No signs of any permanent residents.. yet." She turned and smiled at the boy. "Well, I guess I'll let you get settled. If you need anything, I'm right down the hall. I'll likely be up most of the night." She paused at the door to her room. "My name's Aluna, by the way. What's yours?"

Miller watched in both disgust and amazement as the girl changed into wolf form. It was defiantly something unusual to witness, but he figured he would have to get used to seeing strange things such as these. He was unsure what the wolf was doing, but followed her anyways.
He watched the girl’s transformation again still gave him the same feeling as the first time she changed. How she figured out which dorm room was his he’ll never know and he didn’t feel the need to question her since she did explain it, but he couldn’t exactly understand. He looked into his room after Aluna opened the door. Comparing it his last place of residence it was much better, but then again any place was better than the cage he lived in.
He returned a smile to the girl “thank you” he replied. He entered his room moving toward his bed until he heard the woman speak again, so he turned back around and out the door to respond to her even though he would prefer rest at this moment. The question of his name had him think before speaking since he’s been referred to by his project number more so than the name he’s given himself. “Mine is Miller” he said “we’ll be fine on our own”. He waited by his door for Aluna’s response.

Aluna smiled. "Well, goodnight, Miller." Her amber eyes glinted in the moonlight streaming from her room. "See you around." She turned and entered her room, silently closing the door behind her. She looked at her bed, still neatly made, before slipping over to the window seat. As she stretched out over the cushions, she gazed up at the moon. A yawn escaped her, and she smiled. Tomorrow, she would run. As a wolf, in the forest. Hunt, perhaps. But now, she would rest, napping in the pale moonlight. The girl sighed contentedly, before closing her deep amber eyes and falling into dreams.

Miller paused at his dorm room door and turned his head slightly toward the sound of Aluna’s voice. He answered her “um, yes, another time I suppose...” He slowly continued to move into his room as the girl entered her room. Thoughts of what he was going to do on his first day of freedom were flowing through his mind, he had no idea where to begin nor did he have any knowledge of how things in the outside world worked. He first had to get some sleep, he had a puzzled look on his face when he saw the bed. He looked down at his blade arm and wondered just how he was going to mange to sleep on this bed without tearing it apart.
He would close his eyes, but his mind prevented him from going unconscious, he did not feel secure enough here, but he felt that nowhere was truly safe from the ones he feared the most.
