Colors of the Night Sky (Open!)

The air was cool and soothing, a welcome contrast to the blistering heat of the summer season. This slightly chilling breeze could be contributed to the lack of the sun's presence in the sky for the time being, as now the moon was busy making it's nightly venture, floating above the world and bathing it in in darkness.
A young man, wearing a faded yellow and orange striped shirt and a pair of tan carpenters jeans laid on the grassy ground in front of the massive willow tree. He had only just discovered this place, after his second day of school here. To say that the experience so far was shocking was an understatement. Why, just yesterday, he was running from a couple members of the student body, whom could make roots pop out from the very earth to try and trip him up!
Jude wasn't completely oblivious to gifted people, being one himself, but seeing some of the powers here at this school...he couldn't help but be a little nervous. The grass within a two foot radius of the boy shifted to a light blue color, which only served to make him more visible to passerby. As he stared up at the full moon, Jude began to bat around a rather strange thought.
'Hm...what would a rainbow at night look like?' Jude thought to himself, slowly rising to his feet as he raised a hand up to the sky. The ground under his feet started to fluctuate it's colors, changing from brown to red to green to purple, all of the colors of the rainbow appeared underneath Jude's feet. After a few moments, Jude exhaled deeply, then drew lines across the sky, using his color manipulation to create the illusion of a rainbow, "painting" it's visage across the night sky.
There was a snap of a branch a number of feet behind Jude, but he was far to focused on his project to draw attention towards it, biting his lower lip lightly as he brought a thumb up to see if he was using the correct measurement. The last thing on his mind was getting caught going out past curfew...if this school even HAD curfew that is...Jude had forgotten to ask about it, and honestly, it didn't matter much to him.

Night was much less dreadful for Miller; he didn’t hate the day time he just hated what the day time brought with it, the sun. One look at the moon is not nearly as blinding to him as a small glance at the sun, that he was thankful for, otherwise he wouldn’t have any time to leave the school to explore the grounds of this island. Every night felt like a treat to him, he could go where ever he wanted and just the sight of the outside world intrigued him.
Tonight was a cool night which was a great change up from earlier today; extreme temperatures were one of many things Miller was still not adjusted to. He’s wandered many times through these fields, in fact he possibly passes through here about every single night and it was unusual to see anyone around. Though most people were not awake at the same time Miller was, especially on school nights. Miller himself doesn’t sleep much anyway. He usually stays up all night wandering the school yard and sometimes goes into town, but not often anymore. Whether or not there was an actual curfew in place Miller was not sure, but the staff had never bothered him about it before so he guessed one was not actively in place.
Something in the distance attracted his attention. From the corner of his eye he noticed some odd colours and since he has a very strong sense of curiosity his movements began to follow the strange colours. Once he had reached near the origin of the colours he noticed another man there, his appearance seemed strangely familiar, but Miller wasn’t sure who he was. He began to move in closer and he ended up snapping a twig under his foot. It didn’t seem to startle the boy, but it startled Miller. He jumped to get off of whatever it was he stepped on and flailed his arms a bit after the disruption that was the snapping twig. During his small freak out he accidently got his blade arm stuck into a neighboring tree.
Once he had noticed his arm was impaled into the tree he looked straight at it and began to tug at it with his other arm. Unfortunately his midnight walks did not reinforce his upper body strength. He was unable to get it out on his own. During this moment his hatred for his sword arm had returned. He turned his attention back to the other boy “excuse me, if you’re not busy could you lend me a hand with getting my arm out of this tree?” he asked gently to the man who was only a couple feet away from him.

'Ugh, come on, I'm nearly finished!' Jude thought to himself, but was respectful to the man's request and stopped working on his current "painting", only to stop upon seeing the rather gargantuan man with a blade for an arm. Jude raised a hand and opened his mouth, wondering why exactly this fellow had a sharp implement for an arm, but shook his head, dismissing the issue as he walked over to him.
"Alright...Hrm!" Jude stated, pulling the man as best as he could, but even with this man's aid, the blade was firmly stuck within the tree. The colorful, younger teen couldn't help but chuckle, adding in comment, "Wow, you're really stuck in there, aren't you? Well...I've got one way of getting you out. Just...brace yourself, alright. Tense up your chest a bit, and pleasedon'thatemeforthis!"
A bright green ball formed in Jude's hand, and after gulping audibly, Jude slammed the ball into the man's chest, unleashing a large, concussive force that launched the blade armed stranger away from the tree, his blade arm shooting right out of the tree. Jude, being at point blank range, was launched back against the tree, slamming against it as if he had just been laid out by a professional football player.
Jude coughed, clearing his throat as he stumbled away from the tree trunk, looking over to the gigantic student and asking, "Are you alright? I didn't try to put too much into it. Just enough to push you away from the tree."
Jude walked over to this imposing stranger and held a hand out to him, offering to help his fellow peer back up to his feet. After all, it was Jude's fault that he had fallen to the ground in the first place.

Miller stood there confused by the man’s last statement, if he was going to help him why would he hate him. The statement made by the other man became a lot more apparent to him after the boy had started to charge up some kind of orb in his hands. Miller began to panic and tried to pull on his arm drastically, although it had no effect at all. Finally the other student shot the ball at him and knocked him flat on his back.
The phrase the bigger they are the harder they fall could never be truer and in fact he was winded by the blow. Physical pain was something he hadn’t had to deal with in a while and having it happen now reinforced his wanting of never experiencing pain again. There were some up sides to this situation though, he wasn’t stuck in the tree anymore and as well he didn’t land on his left arm, which would have been bad if he did. His head rose when he heard the man’s voice again.
Miller took the gesture offered and grabbed the boy’s hand to pull himself back up. He stood up straight once back onto his feet and looked down at the smaller boy in front of him. “It was still a nasty blow, but I’ll be fine, thanks anyways.” “It’s not the first time this thing has gotten me in trouble” he said as he nudged his bladed arm forward a bit. Miller’s eyes went back over to the object that he had came over to see, but he did not move away from the boy he was just merely looking past him. “You made that yourself I presume?” he inquired about the colours behind the boy.

"Huh?" Jude asked, snapping his attention away from the sharp implement that seemed to draw uncomfortably close to him. He looked back to the incomplete rainbow that he had started to work on earlier, and couldn't help but jump in shock at it.
"Agh! No-no-no!" Jude exclaimed, running back over to the rainbow as it started to fade into the night sky, starting to lose it's color until it eventually vanished. Jude let out a sigh of despair, watching as his work in progress vanished, as if someone had just washed away a chalk drawing. The young artist's depression didn't last more than a few seconds, as he looked back to the taller student and chuckled, "Well, to answer your question, yes, I did make that. Sadly, I didn't have time to make it last...or finish it for that matter. But! That just means I'll have to gather more color, one for each segment of the rainbow."
Upon closer inspection, one could see the color in Jude's shirt slowly start to fade, becoming paler with each passing moment, until finally his shirt was now white with grey stripes. Small dots of yellow and orange appeared in the young man's irises as he looked over his shirt with a frown.
'Looks like I'll have to get all of that color in bulk now,' Jude thought to himself, letting go of his shirt and resolving to just fill it later. After all, he had more pressing matters than his attire.
Jude walked over to the student, a grin on his lips as he thought of a "payment" for helping this guy out. After all, they had all night, and Jude figured that no one else would be out to help him search, so he was quick in suggesting, "Hey, how about you help me find some color? I'm still new here, so I don't really know my way around the area. Oh, by the way, my name is Jude Mercury, nice to meet you!"

Miller watched the boy’s movements with a curious stare. He could see what was happening clearly, but he couldn’t exactly understand what was going on. The colours that he was attracted by disappeared and so did the colour on the boy’s shirt later on. Perhaps that was part of the student’s power, but Miller wasn’t exactly sure, he was mostly confused. What the boy had replied with didn’t make anything make any more sense of the situation, but he decided to just go with it and ask whenever a question is needed. Miller thought that an in depth explanation would be too difficult to understand anyway.
“I suppose I could help you, it was my fault that um... That thing disappeared, I think” he replied with partial confusion. Though whether or not it was his fault he would have agreed anyways, it wasn’t like he was doing anything out here to begin with, well besides pondering but that could wait for another time. “Also I come around here often, I know the grounds of this school very well, just tell me the colours you would need and I can find them easily.”
Then Miller picked up on the fact the boy had introduced himself so he quickly spat out “I’m Miller, it’s good to meet you too!” he spoke with a proud accomplishment of finally introducing himself to another person correctly. To most that was not such a great accomplishment, but Miller had always had problems with not knowing when the appropriate time was for introductions.
Afterwards Miller analysed the area around him for colours that might meet the boy’s criteria, though he isn’t exactly sure what every single colour of the rainbow was. He continually tried listing the colours in his head, but he wasn’t exactly sure if he was right. Memory was not something he was good with, at all and the last time he saw a rainbow was... long ago if at any time at all. “Um... Could you list the colours of a rainbow?” he had hesitated to ask.
