Only one day. She had been in this school for only one day and she was already sick of everyone. Every person she had met had either been weird, obsessed or just... stupid. They were all so friendly it was sickening. Rolling her eyes at the thought of all those strange people she sighed haughtily and stepped through the auditorium doors. Staring at the large stage and all of the chairs, it was at that moment that Caroline decided that this room was her favorite. A stage seemed to attract her like a moth to a bright light, or a man to a woman. It was almost like an impossible dream, something she'd prefer to stare at then actually do.
Taking a small steps, only in a few minutes was she standing on that large stay outlooking all the empty seats. As far as she could tell, not a soul was in the room. Thank goodness for that... she seriously doubted she could put up with any other disagreeable person today, but wait though... when was anyone ever likeable? Ah, never.
Unable to resist a girlish delight, Caroline spun on the stage for a minute or two and her long casual blue dress spun with her. It was then though that she spotted the piano, and with conflicted emotions she made her way over to it. Sitting down on the stool she opened the piano up and pressed one of the keys, the noise rang loud and clear; and Caroline jumped slightly from surprise. It had been so long since she had touched a piano and she could finally play it now without the pressure of getting it right. She could finally play the piano the way she wanted too.
Popping her fingers she then began to play a song that she had taught herself in secret when her grandmother had been forcing her to learn Mozart, Beethoven and so on. 'Across the Universe' by The Beatles. She played the song once, with just the piano and then the second time around she started to sing.
Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup, They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind, Possessing and caressing me. Jai guru de va om Nothing's gonna change my world, Nothing's gonna change my world.
Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes, That call me on and on across the universe, Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box they Tumble blindly as they make their way Across the universe Jai guru de va om Nothing's gonna change my world, Nothing's gonna change my world.
Sounds of laughter shades of earth are ringing Through my open views inviting and inciting me Limitless undying love which shines around me like a Million suns, it calls me on and on Across the universe Jai guru de va om Nothing's gonna change my world, Nothing's gonna change my world.

The word hate did Cade’s feelings towards this place absolutely no justice. Maybe combining every synonym for the word hate would suffice…maybe. Then again, what other choice did he have? Run back home to dear old mommy and daddy? And then what? Have them run away from him? No, he just had to suck it up and when he saw the opportunity, he’d leave and start his own life free of anyone who caused him grief in the past.
But, as long as he was here, he might as well try to find something to entertain himself. Which is exactly why Cade found himself walking down the halls of this god forsaken school. For some reason, everything was oddly calm and serene, and quiet…wait. Off in the distance, Cade heard a peaceful, musical noise, a d for lack of anything else better to do, he tried to find it.. Soon, Cade found himself staring at a door, with a beautiful voice and wonderful music playing on the other end. Quietly, he pushed it open and stepped through the door, quietly making his way into one of the back chairs, surprising himself with how quiet he was being.

The song finished and Caroline dropped her hands to her lap, briefly surprised that she had managed to play the whole song without one problem in it. Maybe she was just being paranoid... or hopefully she was really that good. Yawning loudly she stretched her hands out to the ceiling and intertwined her fingers together. A few moments passed of silence, with just her arms up. She then let her arms drop onto the piano, making a loud and alarming noise. She then laid her head on her arms and sighed heavily. She just wanted to go home and be with her dad. Live an easy life for the rest of her life... that's how she wanted it.

Well, that had been worth walking all the way over there. Pushing himself off the seat he’d been sitting in, Cade slinked towards the stage, staying silent and watching her. He jumped a bit when she slammed her arms on the keyboard, but kept heading towards the stage. Leaning his elbows onto the stage, Cade placed his chin in his hands and stared at her for a few seconds. “That was nice,” he commented, looking up at her. “I wish I could play,” he muttered quietly to himself.

At Cade's voice, Caroline's head shot up and she looked his way. A small frown stretched across her face as she examined him for a few minutes. Her first thought was to bask in his praise, she then threw that thought out the window. Already upon first glance did his apperance irk her. Plus, what was he doing listening to her anyways? It's not like she had given him permisson. "Um, thanks," she said still with that same old dissatisfied look on her face. The only reason she had said thanks though was because that was the only thing her dad had ever really taught her, some common courtesy... also it didn't really take much effort on her part to thank someone when they complimented her.
"When did you get in here?" she then asked a little accusingly in a typical British tone.

Cade, caught off guard by her change in town, took his sweet old time answering her question. Scratching his head, he took a few seconds to look around the auditorium, which he’d failed to do when he first gone in here, then the piano, and then her. His eyes lingered on her face for a few seconds and then he shook his head out.
“Well,” Cade began, “I believe I got in here at the beginning of your song,” he said, in a mock British tone. “Why? You don’t like an audience?” he asked her casually.

Caroline's lips dipped down even more as he mocked her accent. Already she didn't like the way he looked at her, and the fact that he took his time answering her question. When she asked a question it was expected to be answered right away. "Not when they look like you," she said while narrowing her eyes at him slightly. She could already tell that this guy was just going to be like the rest of them... annoying and useless.

Well, Cade thought, that hadn’t been very nice. Glaring at her for a second, Cade kept his eyes locked on hers. “Maybe you couldn’t get an audience because no ones desperate enough to come and look at you,” he shot back, scoffing and turning his back towards her.
Shaking his head, Cade pretended to forget her previous comment. Besides, there was no point in letting the words of a self righteous girl get on his nerves.

At his comment, Caroline smirked as he turned his back to her. "Stare at me? Oh, I've had plenty of admirers," she said with an air of conceit about her. "I know for a fact that people love to stare at me," she said to him turning her eyes away from his back and to the keys of the piano. Various memories stood out in her mind for when men had confessed their love to her. None of them were worthy though. No man so far had ever been worthy of her. It was really as simple as that.

“Someone’s a little full of themself,” Cade muttered, more than loud enough for her to here. Turning back to face her, Cade hauled himself up onto the stage and walked over to the piano, hitting some keys and hearing their noise resound and echo in the large room. “You’re very conceited,” he mumbled, leaning against the piano. “What’s your name?” he asked her suddenly.

Caroline stood up as he walked over to the piano, "So I've been told a few times," she said indifferently. She the crossed her arms infront of her chest as he asked for a her name. Still with her eyes narrowed and a deep frown she easily replied, "Caroline," she waited a few seconds before directing the question right back at him. Afterall if he were to know her name then she would in no doubt have to know his. It was the rule of the world, give and take.

“Nice name,” he told her, pushing a few more keys and smiling at himself. Cade made a face at her, one of deep thought, when in reality, he was just stalling again. “I don’t really want to tell you my name,” he said plainly, running his hand through his messy brown hair. “There really is no point, name’s are just labels,” he walked around the piano to her other side and gazed out to where the audience would be if this were some sort of show. “Don’t you agree, Caro?”

"Then why the hell did you just ask for mine?" she said suddenly yelling at him out of no where. Although as he said her nickname, something that her dad had always called her that got on her nerves she stomped her foot down like a little kid having a temper tantrum. "Don't you dare call me that!" she said angrily "If you're going to talk to me, you're going to call me by my full name and that is that," all the while she was saying this Caroline was coming up with different ways to insult this guy until he finally left her alone. There was no way she was leaving, oh no... she was the first one here so she should be the last one.

“Why? Well, it was just curiosity, I guess,” Cade explained, staring at her silently as she threw her little tantrum. “And what makes you think I’m going to listen to you, Caro,” Cade mocked, chuckling quietly. “You’ve got a bit of a temper,” he pointed out, finding it easy to relate to that sort of thing.

What the hell was wrong with this guy? She already felt like punching him in the face. "Whatever, don't talk to me then... I don't care what your name is anyways," she said stubbornly walking back to the piano and sitting down. Maybe if she'd ignore him then the annoying the boy would probably go away. Her fingers stretched over the piano keys, and she played 'Fur Elise' as loudly as she could. This was indeed her idea of ignoring someone.
