“Tah, Colleen” Tobias said clicking his tongue at her. “Ya roll your head away from your arm.” When he was feeling a little impatient, he got very native on people. He knew he didn’t have a right to be impatient with her yet, but he was. He took a breath. “Okay, now while you’re doing that, raise your legs…raise the left one when the right arm is in front of you and vis versa. Clear?”

Amy looked at him and sighed. "Sure." Her enthusiasm was wearing thin, but she kept listening to him and trying to visualize what he was saying. Kicking off a bit, she kicked her legs more than needed, causing her to splash him before she went a few feet and sank into the water; resurfacing, Amy sputtered and sighed. "Ughh. Am I going too slow or something?"

Tobias walked over to her. “Well…yes, a little. Here,” he placed his hand low on her abdomen. “Lie on your stomach and just do what I told you. This way it’s sort of like running on the treadmill. Moving without moving.” He blushed a little as he rested his other hand on her tailbone, but cleared his throat and turned his face away. Normally he wasn’t so conscious of these things, but something in Amy turned him over and bits of him felt like a little boy all over again.

Feeling the hands on her made her body tense, but she relaxed when she realized she would need this to swim. Amorina noticed the blush on his face and she smirked. "Why Mr. Tobias, are you blushing?" She was debating whether to tease him or not; the woman could be an amazing tease when she wanted to but, at the moment, she just wanted to swim correctly. It wasn't as if she meant to arch her back a little more than necessary...

“No,” Tobias said slowly. “I’ve just been for a swim haven’t I? I would be surprised if I weren’t red in the face. Lay on your back.” He cleared his throat again. Maybe it would be easier for her to learn how to swim backwards first. At least she would be able to hold herself up better that way. He had never taught anyone how to swim, not even his own daughter and he was hardly around for any of his younger siblings to really consider him ‘brother’. Was he doing alright, or was Amy just more confused than ever?

Flipping over, she shrugged. "Backwards is simple. It's just floating,"she said, raising one arm over her head and gently kicking away from him and floating gently. "Like this?"Amy asked, repeating the motions, raising one arm and then the other. It was much more simple this way, on her back, gently floating.

“Practice turning your head,” Tobias said with a nod. He crossed his arms and shivered. The water was getting a tad cold for him and he could feel his feet beginning to prune. He ran a hand over the side of his head and side, his cheek still stung. Tobias like watching her, he liked touching her. Was she connecting with him the way he hoped? If not now, would she soon? Or would he simply be stuck in the friend mode? “Okay, now come back to me, but on your stomach.”

She could feel his eyes on her and she smiled, turning her head little. "On my stomach?" Amy smirked and turned over but, instead of swimming over, Amy dove under the water and swam towards him easily. She popped her head up and smiled. "How again?" Kicking off the ground again, she lifted one arm over her head and began to swim as if she knew how to the whole time. Maybe she had; she was a good liar. It was easier to get to know people that way and she had been telling the truth; she wasn't a very good swimmer. She was a pretty good swimmer.

Tobias tilted his head in confusion as he watched her swim. As she came toward him, his jaw set and a fire was glowing in his eyes. “F*cking….Tigh trasna ort Fin!” Tobias shouted throwing his hands up into the air and swimming to the edge of the pool. He quickly slid himself out and stormed toward the gym back, picking up his wet shirt, cursing at it and throwing it back to the tile. “You lied!’ He shouted. He wanted to hear her excuse, perhaps to validate his anger, but more so to see what was going on in her head. Tobias hated liars; it was the worst thing someone could do to get on his bad side, and it didn’t help that the full moon was fast approaching.

Watching him, a small smirk on her face, Amy rolled onto her back again and began to glide towards the side he was closest to. "Yeah,"she admitted. "It got you to stay, and helped us get to know each other. Sort of..." She looked up at him with the innocent face and shrugged. "Sorry, but I'm not good at talking to people without an ice breaker. And you can't tell me you didn't like getting to know me?" Smirking again, she rolled onto her back and began to float, wondering if he would stay or if he would leave.

“Yeah…how about saying something like ‘Hi. Tell me something interesting about you.’ Or ‘I’d like to get to know you more! Let’s go out for drinks!” Tobias was still shouting at the top of his lungs. He lit a cigarette and ruthlessly tossed his dripping shirt into the gym bag. “And you’re right. I LIKED getting to know you…LIKED as in the PAST!” He muttered another string of curse words, deciding he needed a stiff drink, or seven, before nightfall.

"Oh stop yelling,"she snapped. "I don't like to drink, anyway; it makes people say private things and makes people regret...A lot.." Having a bad experience with drinking turned Amy off it forever.
Stepping out, she tilted her head to get the water out of her ears and looked at him in all his dramatic glory. "Oh, so now you don't like me?"she pouted. "My poor heart!"

“Ah. So you don’t regret lies? That’s real nice…I’m sorry, I don’t agree with lies. So yes, mock all you want, but I’ll have none of it.” Tobias growled and pulled his hair back into a loose ponytail. He chewed on the end of his cigarette. “I’ve done a lot of rotten things in my short years, some of which would make you squirm, but I have never purposefully started a relationship on a lie.” He gathered up his things and sighed to slow his anger. “I’ve got some sessions I need to get through,” he added calmly as he headed toward the door.

Amy watched him and shook her head. "All I said was that I couldn't swim. Everything else wasn't a lie. I can make your gift disappear, so you wouldn't have to do those terrible things. And I doubt it'd make me squirm." Her hands on her hips, she walked towards her own pile of clothes, bent down, and began to unfold them. "So God forbid I lie about something so small; don't act like you've ever told a white lie..."

“I’m not am I?” Tobias said sourly. “I just don’t start relationships with them.” He sighed and shifted his weight. “Look, today is not a good day for mind games in general. Clear?” He thought about apologizing for the blowout, but he knew he would be too proud for it, especially when he was not the person in the wrong. He wasn’t the one who had acted like a fool just to get to know someone. “What’s so wrong with trying to be yourself around others?” Tobias asked her bitterly, plowing smoke away from them both and inhaling deeply.
