Miller could feel the movements of the shelf as the boy caught up with him in a surprisingly fast manner. Then again, if he was a secret agent as he had been hinting at the rest of the day, then it wasn’t quite farfetched that he had some sort of extensive training on the physical end. He must’ve been quite the crafty agent considering how unthreatening he looks otherwise, it was a good disguise he put on.
Regardless of that, Miller had caught sight of his pursuer peaking over the edge of the shelf, causing him to back off a bit more and trying to piece together another escape route if and when the boy gets on the same level as him. By the looks of it, his only options were jumping, either back to the ground or to the neighboring shelf. ‘He’s vulnerable in his current position, take advantage of it. Just push him off, it won’t kill him if that’s what you’re worried about. Do something, whimpering and running away won’t solve this problem.’ At this point in time, Miller was blocking off anything the other half of his brain was saying.
Again, Zak was able to identify him on the spot, although he observed Miller in a rather confused way. He moved back down the shelf once his eyes laid upon who he was chasing. This motion mystified Miller for a moment, unsure as to why his identity being uncovered would cause him to retreat. If he was an agent of the scientists he would be well aware that he would avoid causing potential harm to him, that being said though he was backed into a corner, so he supposed that he could logically see how that would make the difference.
In addition to backing down, Zak commanded Miller to follow, in a very weak manner at that. Miller’s bulbous eyes peered downwards for a brief moment, noting that the dog was still in the vicinity. He had no idea how the boy was expecting him to follow in suit. “No… It’s safer up here” Miller retorted in an equally frail and uncertain tone as Zak. Frankly, Miller was hesitant to even speak with the boy, but at the moment he didn’t seem to have many other options. Running was still quite viable, but he wouldn’t be comfortable to make any sort of move until he could see the bird boy again. He could still pose a threat if Miller attempted to jump anywhere. “You won’t get anything from me.”
