If Serenity had thought that she had managed to find her own peace of mind, the woman was sorely mistaken as Cade quickly made his way up to her side. As he did so, the woman in question tapped the ground ahead of her in silence - getting quite a stubborn look in her face. "I swear at this rate you will never leave me alone," Serenity said to Cade with an almost desperate tone. "What is it that interests you in me anyway?" she then asked Cade, staying silent for a moment as he talked about old and new Cade's. At the word pink, there was an obvious tic in Serenity's jaw and the woman paused for a moment to turn toward Cade.
Her body tensed for just a split second making it seem as if she was getting ready to hit the man in some manner, after another second though Serenity resisted and turned back to walking again. "Get a good look at them, they'll be the only one of mine that you'll be seeing." She finally snapped back at the man, his teasing demeanor only causing her to feel more snarky.

Cade was beginning to filter out her more annoyed tones and sub them in with neutral ones as though they were chatting it up the same way they had been only a couple of weeks ago. The environment was still a hostile one, but she seemed to settle on more of a sizzle than an explosion of anger so that was the step in the right direction. “Careful with what you say, I might not with that attitude” he smiled softly as he returned her statement with his own.
“Funny you should ask, for most people I would’ve turned back by now. It’s a couple things that I have gathered as to why. Well, I never see you with anyone around the school, none of the other teachers say a word about you, and as far as I know none of the students do either. I suppose you could say I take an interest in things that other people don’t. Outside of that you’re the toughest person I know, and that accounts for every person I used to know as well and that is quite the prestigious award if you knew anything about me. That easily makes you the most respectable person around here. Everyone else is, meh.”
Cade flinched once again as the woman threatened to hit him after the comment he made. She didn’t however which meant one of two things, she was less irritated by him or she was so irritated that she considered it a waste of her strength. “As entertaining as ogling a stripe of pink fabric sounds, I’ll take a pass on that. Just thought you’d be interested in knowing the colours of your purchases.”

Serenity's hesitated for a moment as Cade responded to her, choosing not to respond as the math teacher explained to her why he found her so interesting. "So, what you're saying is that I'm mysterious and you want to find out why." Serenity said to Cade then - sliding a small smile in the direction in which she heard his voice coming from. It didn't surprise her too much now with how he explained it to her, she had been bothered by people before - but never so much to this degree. It was then that the conversation strayed back onto more personal things that Serenity's resisted the urge to bite her tongue.
"I don't care about colors," she said to the man quite simply then - turning her head back in front of her as if she needed too. It was strange how the woman had gotten accustomed to acting like she could see people, every now and then she was prone to making people think that she could indeed see them. That was how well Serenity had learned to live with her disability, adjusting her mannerisms in such a way that it made it seem like nothing was missing at all.

Cade shrugged at her suggestion of what he truly meant by his words. He didn’t usually like to condense his thoughts into a small sentence as he felt it was hardly a justification for what he truly had within his mind. That being said, he didn’t necessarily agree with her on his own motives. “When you say it like that, it sucks the fun out of it. I’m not necessarily looking to find what makes you tick, but if I do it is an extra bonus on top of it all. No, I just see you as a perfect foil to myself. As far as I know, you lack companions and so do I. We complement each other quite well, I provide you with social interaction and perhaps stop you from becoming a lonesome psychopath, while you keep me grounded with your bluntness and give me a good thrashing whenever I do something too stupid. In some cases breaking my nose.”
With her final statement, Cade should have quit the current conversation while he still could, but there was still a bit more that he couldn’t resist from exploring. It was actually one of the few times that his math side of him started to show and it was so rare for it to come up in such a natural conversation. “But given your physical state, wouldn’t it be interesting to know the statistics behind your wardrobe? Sure, you don’t care about colours, but given that you don’t willingly know during the time of your purchase what colours you do end up buying it’d be an interesting ratio of which colours you have more than others and based on the colours alone which one has the most preferable feel to it. I think there was a theory behind such an occurrence, but I can’t quite think of it at the moment” he spoke with a certain sense of passion behind his words as he stroked his stubble in thought.

Serenity thought for a moment in silence as Cade continued to speak, tapping the ground all the while as they walked. As far as she was aware they were still quite a distance from her home and she found herself wondering just briefly where the math teacher lived. "I don't like my time being wasted so I'd prefer it if you're going to make a point then make it quickly." For some reason she knew that even if she was irritable toward him at this point, he would probably still continue on with his usual behavior. "From the way that you're talking though, I'm surprised you haven't tried to make a move on me since I apparently compliment you so well." She stopped herself at that then, feeling the urge to say something about her blindness to him but deciding against it. It seemed as if in her own way she was teasing him, although not as joyfully as he was doing so to her.
His sudden rambling about what colors she could have picked for her underwear caused the woman to yawn, shaking her head in the process. "I'm thirty-four years old, Cade. If I really wanted to have nice colors for my underwear, I would have figured it out how to do so by now. Could we please move the conversation onto something else? As much as you might like talking about what I'm wearing, I don't."

“Waste your time? Oh, I’m sorry you have something better to do when walking back home?” he inquired with so much sarcasm it could be felt through the air. As he did Cade turned his head toward her with a large cartoony raise of his brow. It really felt like she was digging for ways to complain about his presence. How pitiful. He subtly shook his head as she went over her next sentence. “Of course, it always has to be something sexual when one person compliments another. Especially when it’s a man and a woman. Listen, you are far too respectable for me to try to seduce, besides I’d prefer that my head wasn’t caved in. Friend you make and friend you stay.”
“I wasn’t so much talking about your underwear as I was most of your clothing, but whatever…” as he finished his sentence softly, the sound of an ambulance’s siren blared from behind them along with flashes of red and blue lights brightening their trail every so often. Cade’s head flinched backwards in surprise, but quickly veered his head back. “Well, looks like someone found our friends. Maybe they’ll live to tell the tale about how you kicked their asses after all” he jested. ‘That also means I’m gonna need to find a new source, I probably should have bought it in bulk instead’ he thought.

They continued to walk and if Serenity could have controlled the movement of her eyes she would have rolled them at Cade, "I'm glad that we both have a decent understanding of that at least." In some sense she was relieved that he only wanted to be her friend and as the sound of the ambulance echoed around them Serenity raised her eyebrows in slight surprise. "Should I even bother asking you what that whole thing was about in the first place?" she said to him in a somewhat inquisitive manner. It was then that the ground around her suddenly became a bit more familiar and Serenity realized that she was finally home.
"I'll be leaving you now, I've arrived to where I want to be. Good bye, Mr. Lemaire."
