Tem was sort of insulted by the kid’s lack of curiosity. It was the one trait that she found common in almost every human she’s met, but Tucker didn’t have any interest in further learning anything about herself. It gave her the impression that she wasn’t interesting enough for him. She wasn’t sure why this was such a concern for her, maybe it was just because she liked to talk and informing people of what she was so she wouldn’t be mistaken as a gifted.
As she pondered, a bit of sand trickled down her face. She spotted it quickly noting that she should probably rest when she was done. Her power was beginning to weaken due to the amount of energy she had been using lately to shape shift. Her form would still be stable for now, but it could break down later in the day. She converted any wrinkles on her face to smooth in order to conserve.
“Unless you know some sort of healing magic or hire a miracle worker, yeah.” She could easily help Tucker out by going to the school and picking up some text books from power training classes, but she wasn’t anybody’s errand girl, well besides the chief, anyone of higher rank, and Albion’s leaders.

Tucker, as observant as he had learned to be, noticed the dejected look on Tem's face, which seemed to shift in its appearance. The shadows on her face had changed and she, momentarily at least, seemed mentally invested in some other subject. He thought it was a curious change to her otherwise imposing and authoritative persona that she had maintained up to this point. Had he insulted her in some way? He could not decide how. If anything, she had spoken of his 'fragile' human anatomy in such a condescending way that it had made him uncomfortable. As if she could crush him with ease.
Oh, he realized finally, but he still had no idea how to ask the question. 'What are you?' seemed too obtuse and impersonal. Last thing he wanted to do was insult a being he had no bearing on whatsoever, especially after she had been nice enough to stick around and answer his questions. Still, he thought he had been doing her a favor by not asking personal, potentially invasive questions. He had already asked enough of her today.
"A place like this, I'd think I would just have to wait around a while. But, I don't want to take up any more of your time; you probably have more important things to do than worry about me. Thank you for looking after me and, y'know, tolerating my ignorance. I should be safe here until I recover, and at least now that I'm conscious I can tell them what's wrong with me." He had completely forgotten about his belongings, some of which would have indicated to the staff what was wrong with him more specifically than he could understand. Especially if they were doctors accustomed to handling Gifted. "I appreciate the time you spent for me, thank you. You were a great help, I just hope the school can help me, too."
