Sandra gazed off the side of the boat as the boy complimented on how well she did. She didn’t think she put enough force into it, but then again she wouldn’t have much reference to what a ‘good’ pull off would look like. Her attention fell back upon the soaked boy. “So, we just play the waiting game until we’re away from the docks then?”
She searched the deck of the boat with one slow swing of her head as she tried to detract her attention from the water around her. It was amazing how she felt so uncomfortable around water when it wasn’t even something she would stress about otherwise. If she were to name her top three fears off the top of her head water wouldn’t even be something she considered. Perhaps it was just the coolness of the ocean and its breeze that off put her so much. “Given your powers, how do you feel so comfortable being wet like that?”

Jeremiah smiled, scaling up the side of the boat, working with a built on wooden ladder. His jeans were soaked through and through now, but he didn't seem to mind. He faced Sandra, arms crossing over his chest, wiggling his bare fingers.
"For the most part it seems as though I need a fully solid conductor, copper works great, most metals, wires, etcetera. Plus, for me, unlike you, I have to try to make my power work. In addition to that, if I do accidentally shock myself, it's not bad. My body is built to store high amounts of electricity, I'm not entirely sure how it works. I have to draw my electricity from a preexisting source, soooo for example. I could grab a car battery, and with only a light pricking sensation, I could absorb the electricity in it, and store it in my body in a matter of moments. On the other hand, with a great amount of pain, I could grab on to an electrical transformer, and stock up for a long while. Either way I feel some sort of discomfort constantly, I can feel the stored energy constantly arcing through my body. You grow numb to it eventually, but it's there."
Jeremiah nodded lightly, not entirely sure if anything he'd just said had made sense. He shrugged his shoulders lightly.
"Basically, I'm a large, walking, rechargeable battery with added side effects, some dangerous, others, meh, not so much."

Somewhere in the middle of Jeremy’s long winded explanation of his powers, Sandra’s attention was pondering off to another section of her brain. She wasn’t thinking of anything really of importance, she just felt the need to detract from what the boy was saying for a couple minutes since she wasn’t really much of a science oriented person. She nodded when he finished and understood better with his abridged answer.
“Oh, okay. So if you were a super hero we’d call you the energizer bunny, good to know” she offhandedly joke as her brain was focused more so on her jealousy of him being born with a power he could handle and control. Her enviousness was not directed toward the boy himself, but the fact that he and many others she knew could define and explain their powers so easily. Yet her best analogy was that she was a heat sponge, which has perplexed many in the past.
She looked out into the ocean that lied ahead of them as her face scrunched up. “Good to know, good to know…” she continued in a lower tone as her voice weakened a bit. “Lucky you, right?”

"The energizer bunny? Sounds fitting enough, and to be quite honest, I would not mind it at all if that were my nickname! In fact it would probably be much better than a good eighty or ninety percent of my previous nicknames. Either way, we probably have to wait two or three minutes to float out far enough to where I can actually begin to control the boat in full, sooooo yeah."
Jeremiah smiled at Sandra, hands now dipping into his pockets after unfolding from over his chest. He yawned softly while he twisted to the left, back cracking a bit loudly, he then looked over the edge at the water, head tilting to the left.
"You seem a bit nervous about the water, anything I can do to help you out? Becaaaaaause if you want you can stay in the cabin once we get moving, plus I have life jackets in the cabin. Whatever works."

Sandra’s attention snapped back to the boy as he spoke. She created a bit of a half smirk at his attempt to ease her nervousness toward the water. “No, it’s fine really. As long as the boat stays afloat I’ll be just fine” she explained as she looked at the deck of the boat in order to not see the water. She eyed the cabin once or twice, thinking about possibly contradicting her own words.
“It isn’t the water that bothers me anyway, its more so has to do with hypothermia which in this case in time would be caused by the water” she spoke as if trying to avoid saying that she feared water. Her gaze once again fell upon the cabin and she sort of curled her lips while she stared. “Maybe I’ll have a look around your cabin. It looks kinda nice” she excused herself as she fit her way through the door and into the ship’s cubby.
She poked her head out of the door once she settled herself in. “You’re not allowed inside until you’re dry” she ordered as though she was his mother. She promptly sunk her head back inside the small room.

Jeremiah's eyebrows lifted inquisitively and he rose his right hand in a salute to the girl. The edges of his mouth lifted into a wide smirk, he let the salute fly and, with his words dripping with sarcasm, he said.
"Yes, of course cap'n ma'am! Whatever you say."
He simply decided to go to work about the ship, seeing as how they were constantly reaching closer to the area where they would be able to begin to fly and skip on the water. He climbed about the ropes on the boat, in a flurry of tying and pulling he prepared the boat to go. He hopped down on the deck and waited, hand gripping one rope.
