The Chamois-Hunter had paused politely at the end of the dance- at this point, he had been dancing with Hearthfire and reining in his desire to chitchat. Staying in character for so long had been an enjoyable challenge, though and he clapped his hands with several others for those who had pulled this night together.
Eventually, though, he wanted to make his guesses. He knew that he would be guessed by at least one person the minute he started to speak, but that didn't matter. His voice rang out in flawless English. "I'll guess if nobody else is willing, I will begin." He leaned over and kissed the hand of the lady he was dancing with. "You are Azcalxochizin Ortiz."
When the girl pushed her mask back to reveal a startled face, he grinned at her. "Your costume was exquisite, but I will admit that I had an unfair advantage. Thank you for the lovely dance."
He gestured at Pretty in Pink and said, "I do not know you personally, but I am confident that you are Mr. Albert, the History teacher. Thank you for chaperoning this event."
He smiled and turned around to survey the ballroom. "I have met the Beauty who danced with the Wolf earlier. Miss Vivian looked lovely this evening."
He decided against guessing everybody he had suspicions about and finished with the one person he felt could guess him. He approached Specter and bowed. "I knew you almost instantly. I am somewhat hurt that you didn't know this character- you inspired the choice, Sandra."
With that, he withdrew to the side of the room. He wanted somebody to guess him, to recognize him. He had been able to guess most of the people in the room based on stuff he had seen and heard. The two that had him completely stumped had been the Wolf and the Witch. Nothing in his inquiries had given him a firm hold of them and their costumes were not familiar. They also covered any real identifiable features. He suspected the woman was a teacher, but that's as far as that went. The Wolf was a powerfully built individual, but that didn't really narrow things down much.
They were also noticeably absent from he proceedings. He glanced about the room, realizing that they had made their exit before the guessing had even begun.
